Our People

A personal service given in a relaxed and friendly fashion.

Marian McNeil

Senior Solicitor

Despite having lived in England for the majority of her life, Marian has never lost sight of her Scottish roots. She qualified as a Solicitor in English Law in 1983 where she began her career. Marian joined Kingsfords in 1987.

Marian is a highly experienced Child Care Solicitor who specialises in Children Act Care Proceedings. She is also a member of the Specialist Children's Panel at the Law Society. She is able to represent parents who are at risk of losing their children in Care Proceedings and also represents children who are involved in these proceedings. She can deal with applications for Residence Orders and Special Guardianship Orders within Care Proceedings, and Adoption Orders. Where possible, Marian will carry out her own advocacy, whether it be in the Magistrates Court or the High Court. Marian enjoys the many challenges brought by this type of work and deals with her clients sympathetically and realistically, providing support and advice where needed throughout these often difficult Court Proceedings.

In her spare time Marian enjoys reading (and is a keen member of a local book club), going to the cinema, gardening, badminton and yoga as well as pursuing a keen interest in travelling. She also enjoys cycling when the weather is not too inclement!
