Conveyancing Paralegal required in our Cranbrook Offices

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Conveyancing Paralegal in our Cranbrook office based in the heart of the Kent Weald. 

Our Cranbrook office is based directly on the High Street and is open-plan and often busy so being a talented multi-tasker with attention to detail and exceptional client care skills are often necessary to fit into our small, friendly but busy team.

Our Cranbrook team receives a very healthy flow of work and is flourishing.  Experience of a case management system and full range of the conveyancing procedures from commencement to completion would be preferred but an adaptable, pro-active attitude with an excellent client care and team player approach is essential.

Duties will include:-

  • Working both as part of a team and independently (with supervision).
  • Dealing with clients, estate agents, lenders and solicitors at every stage of the transaction both in person, by email and over the telephone.
  • Taking instructions.
  • Opening Files and completing AML checks and searches.
  • Ordering searches.
  • Assisting the fee earner in the conveyancing process generally either via instruction or using audio dictation as necessary.
  • Keeping clients and agents up to date with the progress of their transactions via email and telephone.
  • Preparing accounts.
  • Post exchange and pre-completion checks.

EXPERIENCED COMMERCIAL PROPERTY SOLICITOR

We wish to recruit an experienced commercial property solicitor with 3 – 5 years pqe.

The ideal candidate will have experience in all areas of commercial property work and will have the skills necessary to progress to a level where they will confidently supervise others and head up the department upon the future retirement of the existing post holder.

The position is based in our head office in Ashford which is 5 minutes from Ashford International Station.

The remuneration package will include a good starting salary with review after 6 months, a discretionary bonus, 25 days annual leave, free parking together with health insurance after a qualifying period.

Training Contracts

Recruitment for our intake of trainees who start in 2019 has now closed. Please come back to this page in the Spring 2020 for details of how to apply for the next intake of trainees.

The successful candidate will be recruited in Autumn 2020. Before the training contract commences you will be employed as a paralegal for 6 months. Upon successful completion of that position and undertaking your post paralegal appraisal you will then start your 2 year training contract. During these two years you will be exposed to a variety of work in at least three separate seats within the firm.

Our Training Director will oversee your training programme and Trainee Solicitors will usually spend six months in each seat with a training supervisor. It is hoped you will gain a wide range of experience and develop your professional skills, laying the foundation for a successful future career in law.

Who should apply

A strong academic background is required preferably with a minimum classification of a 2:1 degree, or equivalent.  In addition, you should have strong inter-personal skills coupled with enthusiasm and initiative, be commercially aware and ideally have previous relevant work experience. Candidates must hold a current clean driving license as you may be required to work between offices.  If you do not meet one or more of these requirements but excel if other areas these factors will be considered.
